.The Current is a vocal sextet who reminds us that part of celebrating the courage of those in the past is finding our individual voice in the present. As part of "Kiss the Speaker Wire," The Current performed works by Radiohead, Lauryn Hill and Ted Hearne. As part of "The Quieting," they performed a set of short a cappella vignettes by Ted Hearne, set to short texts found in Oblique Strategies, a deck of cards written by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt. Their repertiore includes an array of music from different genres and cultural influences, ranging from Len H. Chandler's Civil Rights parable "Murder on the Road in Alabama" to Björk's "Unravel."
