A native of Indianapolis, Julie Beckel has just finished her junior year at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she has been studying with Randy Gardner. She has performed with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Evansville Philharmonic, various chamber ensembles, and has done studio recording work in the Indianapolis area. Miss Beckel has participated in several summer festivals, including Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and Music Academy of the West. She is currently a member of the 2004 Verbier Festival Orchestra in Switzerland, where she performed this summer. She will be touring with the orchestra in Asia this fall. Julie has recently been appointed Assistant Principal/Utility horn with the Honolulu Symphony for their 2004-2005 season.
